Pedals are fun but what about a project that takes more than a few hours to build? One that is heavy, lethal and sounds amazing! When I am not building little stompboxes these are the tube projects I am working on...

Tweed Deluxe Build
A sweet simple little tone machine! Three knobs and a whole lotta amp. The building of a Tweed Deluxe, the predecessor of the Blackface Deluxe Reverb.

"Top Drive" Another 12AU7 Pre-amp

Another 12Au7 pre-amp design. This time with ideas coming from classic Vox and Dumble amplifiers.

A serious tone machine with tones of punch. More features with improved PSU and more external switching than "The Hood".

"The Hood" A Custom Pre-amp Design

A custom designed and built pre-amplifier.  Two dual triode 12AU7 tubes, low-voltage pre-amp. Complete with external bypass system.

Trinity 18 Watt

A custom built 18W amplifier. Chassis, turret board and transformers bought through local amp company Trinity Amps.

Deluxe Reverb

The building of an old school style Deluxe Reverb amplifier. A 112 combo amp built to "blackface" specs.

Vibro Champ

The first ever amp I built. A Vibro Champ, a simple single ended 5W amp with a few of my own mods thrown in here and there.

Valve Jr. Modding I
How can you not like an all tube amp that sells for approx $150? Super fun and easy to mod, and you get great results. Check out my hackery of this little amp.

Valve Jr. Modding  II (Vibey!)
Another Valve Jr. modifying experience. This one had an extra 12AX7 to add a tremolo effect to the amp. The idea was to make the like an old Gibson combo amp of the 1940's.
